Sources & resources
Official guidance informing our original lesson content, plus resources to help managers check local requirements and arrange separate training.
Lesson references show the sources used in drafting each topic. State and territory links are further guidance and external training routes; listing them does not mean every linked course or rule is included in Ozzie Spark.
These authorities have not endorsed or approved this app. General awareness cannot establish complete compliance or guarantee legal protection. The manager still needs to check the actual work, local requirements, instruction and supervision.
Guidance by state and territory
Use the location where the work is performed. For work across locations, check each relevant jurisdiction and regulator. These links do not track or certify external training completion.
New South Wales
- SafeWork NSW — safety induction and workplace instruction
- NSW Food Authority — free Food Handler Basics course
- NSW Food Authority — Food Safety Supervisor requirements
- NSW Government — RSA requirements and approved training
Further guidance by topic
Queensland
Victoria
Victoria uses its own OHS framework. National model WHS guidance is not automatically Victorian law.
South Australia
Northern Territory
Western Australia
Tasmania
Australian Capital Territory
Training to arrange separately
- Food handling: confirm applicable skills, knowledge and training requirements. Free introductory learning is not automatically Food Safety Supervisor certification.
- Alcohol duties: check recognised RSA training, local eligibility and any card or refresher requirements.
- Other tasks: check first-aid qualifications, specialist licences and task-specific practical training where relevant.
Check the worker’s evidence and retain it in the business records. A link visit or an Ozzie Spark practice score is not proof of external completion.
Sources used to develop the lessons
Each entry identifies the lesson version and its references. Lessons use original explanations and examples. A state source may inform a general safety principle; this does not make that state’s legal requirements applicable everywhere.

Review and updates
References were researched on 3 October 2026. External pages and requirements can change. Source checking and software testing are separate from professional content review. Ozzie Spark authorised the internal awareness release on 4 October 2026 following AI-assisted content checks and software testing. Independent professional review, accreditation and regulatory approval are not claimed.
Review is needed when guidance, hazards or work arrangements change, and when learner feedback or incidents reveal a gap. There is no automatic regulatory monitoring in this service. Subscription frequency does not determine a legally required refresher interval.
